There are a range of projects to choose from, all led by and for older people. We want to reconnect older people to local networks, both to improve their wellbeing and to strengthen local communities.

Meeting people of all ages
“I don’t know anyone in my street anymore. There are lots of young people moving in but they are so busy, they don’t stop and chat.” Many young people do want to get to know people in their community – some are lonely too, having moved away from their families, and would love to share good times together. North London Cares is linking older and younger people together, so if you are interested, please do get in touch.

Plan your own projects
We think it’s important to keep on doing, thinking and learning throughout your life; no one should ever feel they can’t contribute to the community they live in. We are funding local projects across the borough to support older people to get together and plan their own activities to help improve their local areas.
In Kilburn and West Hampstead a local programme of activities is run by Kilburn Older Voices Exchange (KOVE) and in Somers Town and St Pancras, Origin Housing run various one-off and regular activities.
Since 1st October 2017, you can also get involved in local projects in Gospel Oak and Haverstock, run by Kentish Town City Farm, Castlehaven Community Association and Queen's Crescent Community Association and in West Euston and Regent's Park run by the Third Age Project.
A new project with the Bangladeshi community in Camden has also begun, lead by Hopscotch Asian Women's Centre, Bengali Workers' Association and Kings Cross Brunswick Neighbourhood Association.
