I would like to mention my recent visits to organisations as part of ABC’s community activities programme and how much I enjoyed going, the different experiences and meeting lots of older people who appear happy to be there and hopefully I’ll visit again!
At Dragon Hall I attend the jewellery making workshop. What a lovely little group of inspired jewellery makers, I had a great time and was really chuffed with the bracelet I made.
At Highgate Newtown Community Centre I went to the over 70s exercise circuit There were lots of really lively and enthusiastic participants. It’s surprising how you can run up a sweat playing with balloons! A worthwhile activity to keep you in shape and a great trainer.
I could not have asked for a warmer welcome than from the residents at Akash Residents Association! They were absolutely lovely and the fish cakes were delicious… I will definitely have to pop by again.
I also joined Abbey Community Centre for their Coffee Morning and Gardening. Wow, what a busy centre! People were drifting in and out and having a chat with one another, it’s a group where everyone knows each other. It’s lovely when people haven’t been around and others asked what they’d been up to. Again, a very welcoming group and people just potter around in the garden and sit with their coffee admiring the plants.
I hope to be able to visit our wonderful groups again!
