The taster session was attended by 6 students, all of whom were keen to learn the basics.
Julia Harris, workshop leader, was very impressed with the enthusiasm and commitment of the group...as she stated in her introduction...I think it is great that so many people want to learn basic signing as this would mean a lot more to deaf people who can only communicate in sign, it doesn’t matter that you may get the sign wrong it’s the fact that you have tried to communicate with them.
The group thoroughly enjoyed the session and the two hours flew by.
Dragon Hall is now looking at different ways to fund a short series of workshops, buidling on the basics of what was learnt and to look at other areas such as lip reading.
